At first glance, Molly might seem intimidating. I mean, her job is to fosters economic development for all of Clinton County...which is big. She's worked for former Congressman Bill Owens and Assemblyman Billy Jones, for years.

But intimidating - she's not. She smart, she's kind & she's positively pragmatic. As a Rotarian, these qualities are what you want on your side when raising money for the community you love - and Molly loves her community. Molly lives today in Rouses Point, which was where she was raised, now living with her husband and two kids. She's a pickleball lover, musical theatre enthusiast and spends winters skiing, and summers camping with the fam.

Anyone who knows Molly, knows she loves a Disney vacation. Which seems fitting, because it was Walt Disney who said "if you dream it, you can do it." I guess the best way to describe Molly, as a person, a professional & as a Rotarian: she's a dreamer. She just dreams big.

This is Jack. Jack is a friend, to the end. And in our 100+ member Rotary club, he’s got 100+ friends. Bear with us in getting through this post, because it’s bittersweet y’all.

Here we have sweet, lovely Anna. When she's not working or volunteering, she's tending to these two adorable boys (I mean, seriously...so cute), her doting husband Brady (who also happens to be her high school bestie), gardening and cooking. Seems like Anna has it all, right? Here's the thing - she works for it. On days when she could be home couch-surfing, she's at a committee meeting, or a business function, or an event...she's always there. She's caring, dependable & FUN! Some may say she's a 'social butterfly', and perhaps that's true. But, like Maya Angelou said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Anna, thank you for the work you've done & continue to do for our community. To us - you're a real-life butterfly, just spreading her wings.

 

 

 

“I like people.”
Ellen says she’s a ‘people-person’, but we’re going to have to disagree. This over-used phrase simply doesn’t do justice to the humanity & generosity that this Rotarian exemplifies.
Ellen has worked four decades in the banking/credit union world, working with people from every walk of life. The dazzling part of Ellen is that she is a master-empathizer, never letting her professional status get to her head. The way Ellen feeds her ego is by being a friend, and Ellen is a tried & true friend, indeed.
She’s an MVP for our Noon Rotary Club, working in leadership roles for our popular Roducky Derby and committees for our Raffle Fundraiser, Environmental, King O' Wings, Fishing Tournament & Rotary Programs. She does everything with the same vigor. Her enthusiasm is as contagious as her love for her community. Because we’re her ‘people’ and we’re darned lucky for that.

 

'Where there is a will.....'
Mr. Kirby's list of 'extracurricular's' speaks for itself. How does one man have time to do it all?
Ed gives his heart & soul to every organization he serves, with consistent enthusiasm & action. How does he find the energy?
'Where there is a will.....'
He's a family man, and will brag all day about his beautiful wife Anne, and his beloved sons Colton, Kyle, Neal, & Joe, and soon will be taking in his niece & nephew. He manages to be there for everyone...but how?
'Where there is a will...'
Maybe it's Ed's huge heart, compassion and life lessons that make him a real-life superman to those that know him. But if you ask him how he does it...he'll just shrug it off and laugh. He's a friend to all, consistently. He's a great example to us all of how much love we've got to give.
Because, 'where there is a will....there's an Ed'.

Katie is one of those ladies that makes you smile, even if you don’t want to. She’s volunteers whenever & wherever she can, and with what seems to be endless enthusiasm.
She’s kicking butt as the Town Clerk for the Town of Plattsburgh, and you may see her dropping large congratulatory yard signs as part of her business, ADK Yard Cards. When she's not working, she’s doting over her adorable kiddos, Cooper & Sara with her lovely hubby, Moi.
ADK Yard Cards is a business that lifts people up, makes them feel loved & excited. That's Katie – she’s a walking ADK Yard Card. She brings joy wherever she goes…which I think we can all agree is simply one of the best character traits a person can have. You're the best, Kalluche.

She may appear small in stature, but Christina Ubl is dynamic, intelligent & by gosh, the girl 'gets things done'! She's been an important member of the Plattsburgh Noon Rotary Club for years, encapsulating the 'service above self' mentality. She was born & raised in Stamford, CT - but became a North Country resident at age 10 when her family moved to Willsboro. And now, fortunately for us - the North Country is where she calls home. You're a good one, Ubl!

She's smiling, she's enthusiastic, but above all else...she's dedicated. Courtney has given her ALL to her profession, to her community, and to her husband Vinny & their three beautiful boys. Everything Courtney does, she does with gusto. She has volunteered her time to countless organizations, and to us Rotarians...she's an essential component of membership recruitment, a reliable volunteer, and just an all-around delight! She's a true North Country gal, enjoying cold winters on the mountain, and summers in her canoe. As Rotarians, it's dedicated people like Courtney that truly bring meaning to 'Service Above Self'. You're the best, Courtney! Thank you for all you do!

A north country fella, born & raised....now as a ‘grown up’ he’s husband to his lovely wife Adriana, and as he puts it “I have two amazing children, Cecilia(7) and Alex (2).” He’s a family guy- through & through; he’s the quintessential Adirondack Dad; he loves camping, outdoor activities, riding bikes, but is also a well-respected Lego-Builder, at least to Cecilia & Alex.
He joined the crew at West Bay Financial as a licensed Life Insurance Rep and works with small businesses & individuals to try to shed light on what Life Insurance can do. Chris does a lot for our Rotary club, but to many of us he’s the guy that sends his friendly “It’s time to order lunch” email out every week. And, let us tell you…these reminders are KEY  Chris – thanks for all you do for our Rotary Club, we couldn’t do it without you!

Meet the lovely Lynne! Born & raised in Middleboro, MA (near Cape Cod) which began her life-long adoration of the ocean. Lynne moved here in 2020 when her husband took a job as English Professor at SUNY Plattsburgh and here they have remained! Lynne owns the Lake City Coworking on City Hall Place (next to Chapter One), which is a membership based resource for folks looking for affordable professional office solutions.

"I'm not nice, I'm mean!" Was Mr. Hammond's response when we told him to 'smile nicely' for this picture.

But don't let him fool you, Mr. Hammond is the best. It's a good thing we like him too, because this guy has been a member of our wonderful club since 1984! Many folks may remember Mr. Hammond from his 31 years working as Special Marketing Service Representative for Verizon/Bell Atlantic/New York Telephone. "I enjoy the comradery we have as Rotarians; I'm proud of what we stand for." A past-president & an esteemed Paul Harris Fellow, Mr. Hammond has made Rotary a priority in his life. And despite his 'meanness' - we are just so darned fond of this fella. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Hammond! 

 

 

This is Stan a.k.a. The Connecticut Peddler, a.k.a. The Main-Man Stan.
We caught up with Mr. Ransom before his morning workout at the Plattsburgh YMCA. A long-time Library Director, first in Huntington, NY and in 1975, he headed to the Clinton-Franklin-Essex Library System & we (Plattsburgh) received one of the most generous residents in Mr. Ransom.  He was instrumental in establishing the Lake Placid Winter Olympics Museum in 1979, but his proudest achievement was creating Black Poetry Day. On October 17, 1970,  Black Poetry Day was adopted for official observance by NYS.....that was all Stan's doing.  Stan, you're the greatest! ❤

 

 

 

 Another edition of #MeetTheMembers, featuring the one & only Randi C-h-r-i-s-t-o-d-o-u-l-o-u. It's a doozy to spell, but Randi is patient as she spells it out for us. She practices patience daily as a mom of three & it's clear she's a doting mom by the way she talks about her kiddos. Randi's a ray of 🌞 & an excellent Rotarian!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Introducing the lovely Linda! She's in the club for YOU (our community!); she is loving Rotary because she knows that what we do, helps out our friends & neighbors. This southern NY gal never thought Plattsburgh would be the place she called home, but her Plattsburgh-raised husband took them in this direction & it's where Linda has remained ever since. Our win, for sure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Back in the day, Ryan was kinda famous. In high school, he & his pals saw the Blue Man Group and were inspired to start their own 'Red Man Group'. Word on the street is that they toured area elementary schools performances & were all the rave! But today, he's hung up his red suit and is a devoted family man that works as a friendly Client Advisor for Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group.  Perhaps we'll get to see an encore of the 'Red Man Group' at a future Rotary meeting!
