Rotary Club of Plattsburgh

Club Reminders & Updates

  • Paul Harris Fellows Honored this Week -  Congratulations to this year's Paul Harris Fellows Cathy Forget, MaryAnne Bukolt-Ryder and Peter Cadieux.  The Paul Harris dinner is scheduled for May 2nd at the Butcher Block and will cost $40 per person.  Cocktails will be at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.  Members can sign up through Club RunnerThere will be no lunch time meeting this week.
  • Bed Race Committee to Start Planning - The Bed Race Committee will have its first meeting of the year on May 9th following the weekly Rotary meeting.  New members are always welcome to help plan this exciting event which takes place during the Battle of Plattsburgh.
  • Host Families Needed - The Youth Exchange Committee is looking for host families in Beekmantown and Saranac for the two youth exchange students who will be with us from Sept. 2018 to June 2019.  Each family will keep students for a 3-4 month period and will be interviewed in their home and must have background checks completed.  Students are Letitia from Brazil going to Saranac and Mire from Japan going to Beekmantown.  Contact Chair Shelley Fracalossi for more information.
  • Motorcycle Committee: We are in the final lap of the motorcycle raffle - please sell any tickets you have!  There will be other volunteer opportunities to sell tickets at Lake City Choppers and Sam's Club.  Sign up sheets will circulate at upcoming Club meetings.  Congrats to Jody Malloy who has sold 61 tickets so far!

  • Fishing Tournament - The 32nd annual Fishing Tournament will be taking place the weekend of June 1st - 3rd. The Committee needs everyone's help to sell ads for the magazine (kind of like Radio Days).  Lists of available contacts are coming soon so watch your email for this information.  Special thanks to News Channel 5 who will help promote the tournament this year.

  • St. John's Rotary says Thanks - Katie Kingsley shared a special thank you note from the St. John's Rotary Club for the donation our Club members made to help with recovery from the devastating hurricane.  They were able to use the funds for scholarships and school supplies - programs that they usually support but have been unable to since they could not hold any fundraisers.  They had not met as a club since August 2017 and were thankful to have their first meeting earlier this month.
