Events & Committee News

Rotary Holiday Ornaments

The 2021 Rotary Ornaments are ready! This year is Clare and Carl's. If you would like to pickup some to sell, please contact Cornelia Forrence, Jody Maloy, or Maria Alexander (for pickup at the Senior Citizen's Council). They are also being sold to the public at Dannemora Federal Credit Union and UFirst Federal Credit Union. The cost is $20 for in-person pickup, $25 if you would like to it mailed. We also have a limited number of sets for sale that include prior years. Please contact Cornelia or Jody for any additional information.
 

Club Assembly

Club Assembly will take place on December 8th. Nicole will be reaching out to any committee chairs that may need to make updates. If you would like to make an update on your committee, please reach out to Nicole. Roteract will also be presenting that day.
 

Fun Meeting

Ellen & Nicole are working on a fun meeting for the holiday on December 22nd. There will be no meeting on Wednesday, December 29th.
 

Holiday Card Collection

Plattsburgh Rotary is collecting "holiday" cards now through December 3rd. These can be store bought, handmade, drawings, crafts, letters, religious or not etc. They do not need to have envelopes, but can. You may include your name or the group you represent or they can be anonymous.
 
Completed cards can be dropped off to any of the following locations:
 
Senior Citizens Council of Clinton County
Joint Council for Economic Opportunity - JCEO, Margaret Street Location
Dannemora Federal Credit Union, any branch
Advocacy and Resource Center, New York Road
 
Completed cards will be distributed around our community to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospital, home delivered meals program, isolated seniors etc.

New Member Orientation

The final New Member Orientation of the year is Friday, December 10th at 8 am. This is a requirement to move from Red to Blue Badge. Orientation will be held in person at Steve Kende’s  office, 53 Court St. Please e-mail Steve Kende to let him know you are attending.

Zoom Attendance & Makeups

Anne Cutaiar tracks attendance. Please contact her if you do not see yourself on the roster or you were sharing a Zoom connection with someone. You can check your attendance record on Club Runner under the My Attendance tab.  If you watch or listen to a previous weekly meeting  and want to get a makeup, please notify Anne Cutaiar (anne@lakechamplaintravel.com) via email and include your name, email address, the weekly meeting date you watch and how long you watched/listened.

Food Shelf

The Club is accepting donations to the Rotary Club's Food Shelf program. Please send any amount you can spare via check, credit card or Venmo. Read below for more information on how to donate.

If you are tech savvy, your help is needed!  Please see Keith Tyo or Meghan Weeden to learn how you can help with managing the Rotary Zoom set up.

Rotary Committee Meeting Schedule

Please note: All Committee Meetings will be virtual until further notice. 
 
Rotary Board Meeting - The next Rotary Board meeting will be Monday, December 20th, at noon.  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 3rd Monday of every month at noon. 

Program Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Monday of every month. The next meeting is December 6th.

Service Committee - The next Service Committee meeting will be Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Wednesday of every month. 

Membership Committee -  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of every month. The next meeting is December 8th.

Safety Committee - Carol Arnold and Theresa Hayden will be giving weekly safety updates & reminders.  Suggestions and new members are welcome, please contact Carol or Theresa.

Plattsburgh Rotary Meetings Are Virtual Until Further Notice

Due to an increase in confirmed cases of the Delta-variant of COVID-19, the weekly meetings of the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh will be held virtually on ZOOM for the next couple of weeks. Zoom meetings will begin at noon. The Board of Directors will review its decision on a weekly basis whether to continue broadcasting based on the COVID-19 situation locally and statewide.
