Did you know?

August is membership and club development month, a time to focus on and appreciate your members, celebrate their devotion to the club and the impact they have made. Even though our club's membership has grown to more than 150+ Rotarians, there is always room for more. It's not just the Membership Committee's responsibility; All of us know at least one person that might be a good fit for Rotary, whether that person be a colleague, family member or friend - all we have to do is ask.

Please check with the Committee Chairs for any specific meeting details.

Still have raffle tickets? Don't forget to get them sold and turned back into Anna Channell before September 12.  If you have tickets you will not sell, turn them in ASAP.

Parade Marshals

Parade Marshals are needed for the Battle of Plattsburgh Parade.  Marshals will assist with the “spacing and pacing” of units in the parade on Saturday, September 12th.   Volunteers will meet in front of the Elks Club on Cumberland Avenue at 12:20 PM for assignments and safety meeting.  Please contact Bob Parks at (518) 578-8195 or email at bob.parks2016@gmail.com to volunteer.

Parade will start at 1:00 PM.  Parade marshals earn a Rotary meeting make-up.  (NOTE:  Volunteering for the Rotary Bed Race will not interfere with being a Parade Marshal.  The Bed Race finishes before the parade.)

Service Project - Transition Success

The Service Committee is partnering with CVPH to do a collection of NEW items for their Transition Success Program.

This collection supports individuals leaving the hospital who do not have clothing or basic hygiene supplies.  We will be collecting the following items from now until September 8 (there will be a labeled bin or box available):

  • Sports bras
  • Shorts S-XL
  • Sweatpants S-XL
  • Shirts
  • Sweatshirts
  • Slide on shoes
  • Underwear
  • Hygiene items (i.e. soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc.)

As a reminder, all items must be new.  Men's, women's and unisex items are needed.

If you have any questions, please let Nicole or Kerry know.
