Rotary Club of Plattsburgh

BOARD MEETING

Monday, October 19th at Noon.  Use same zoom link as regular Wednesday meetings.  This is a great way to complete a makeup and is also a requirement for red to blue badge.

ORNAMENT SALES COMMITTEE

The new ornaments are ready to sell!  This year the ornament has the well known PAFB "Santa on the Plane".  The picture and coloring are very well done.  Anyone with connections to Plattsburgh will want one of these ornaments!  Contact Corn Forrence or Jody Maloy to order.  They also have past ornaments, for those trying to fill their sets.

CHANGES TO ROTARY DUES

The Rotary Dues Statements will be going out the beginning of November and will be due December 1st.  This change will enable Carmen Carpentier and Anne Cutaiar to make the necessary changes, to our membership roster, before we receive the District Billing Statement.  Please advise Carmen or Anne, if you will not be continuing your Rotary membership for any reason.

service committee update

Service Committee T-shirts are in and ready for pick up if you pre-ordered. There are a few extra shirts. If you would like to purchase one, please contact Nicole Laurin.

Small gifts committee

The Plattsburgh Rotary Club is announcing a request for proposals from local organizations to benefit our community.

The Club is asking that all requests for this Rotary year be submitted for review by October 30, 2020.

The Club has a limited amount of money to be distributed to local organizations and therefore, the maximum grant that can be received is $500.  These grants are given to organizations serving a larger population and a greater good, not to an individual. All grants are given toward special projects and not for the general operations of the organization or for fundraising. Specific events such as walks, golf tournaments, etc. will not be considered. Special funding is available for Youth-At-Risk programs that positively impact individuals under the age of 18.

Please include the project title, organization name, contact information, funding amount requested, length of the program, the goal and summary of the project, any collaborative partners, the budget and any means of recognizing Rotary if funded. Requests should be submitted to P.O. Box 86, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

The Plattsburgh Rotary Club works diligently throughout the year to raise money to reinvest back into local organizations as well as support worldwide health efforts led by Rotary International.   For questions, please email khaley@cvph.org.

The Rotary club is following Food Establishment Guidelines to have the meeting.

  • You will need to register and choose your luncheon combo ($15.00) or Rotary dessert/beverage ($5.00) by Tuesday Noon (12 p.m.) prior to the Wednesday noon meeting via https://mhab-fresh.square.site/

This Wednesday's luncheon combo choices are:

  1. Main Meal: Chicken Caesar Wrap
  2. Soup: Turkey and Wild Rice Soup
  3. Salad: Roast Pork w/Apples and Veggie
  • Upon arriving Wednesday, you MUST enter wearing a mask, and your mask must remain on whenever you are walking around.
  • If you are seated at your table and are eating or drinking, you may take your mask off as the tables have been socially distanced and there will only be 2 - 3 people at each table.
  • When you arrive, you will check in at the table with Forrest and put any donation you want into the Food Shelf bowl on the table.
  • You can then go get your lunch and refreshments and take a seat at a table. We will not have anyone walking around the group with the microphone and to collect things.
