Paul Harris
You can now make your reservation for the Paul Harris Dinner (an email went out recently with RSVP and payment information). This annual recognition dinner is scheduled for June 12th 6:00pm at Valcour Brewing. Please register online at http://bit.ly/2HA3hSk no later than June 5th. You can pay at the door with cash or check. Kyle Brister is being recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and Ellen Bouchard is receiving receiving a 5 Sapphire Pin for continuing service to Rotary after being named a Paul Harris Fellow previously. Peter Gallagher is also being named a Paul Harris Fellow-his wife and family will receive his medallion at his memorial service June 22nd. There will be no lunch meeting on June 12th.
Travel Raffle Update
Ellen and Vicki thanked the club for an outstanding raffle sale season. This year's raffle raised more than $9400 to be distributed to local programs in the community. Rotarians sold nearly 1000 tickets!
Looking for a Sargent At Arms
The Board of Directors is seeking a new Sargent At Arms. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Rotary leadership. Each week the Sargent At Arms is responsible for making sure assigned meeting roles are present. Please let Jack or any board member know if you are interested.
Community Scholarships Awarded
Ken Knelly accepted a $500 scholarship award for the Plattsburgh State College Foundation.
Steve Frederick accepted a $500 scholarship award for Clinton Community College.
Kerry Haley accepted a $500 scholarship award for the CVPH School of Radiology.
RoDucky Season is about to open!
The RoDucky Committee is back from a one year rest and ready to roll. Ed Kirby and Justin Ihne will lead the RoDucky committee this year and are looking for you to help! A 15 minute organizational meeting is scheduled for June 5th right after the Rotary meeting.
New Member Orientation
The next new member orientation is scheduled for Friday June 7th 8:00am at 53 Court Street. Remember - you must attend an orientation session to move from Red Badge to Blue Badge. See Steve Kende if you have any questions.
Plattsburgh Hunger Games
Our Rotary Club is co-sponsoring the first Plattsburgh Hunger Games on June 8th at the Oval. We are looking for volunteers for the following:
10:00am-11:30am Set-up
11:30am-2:00pm & 2:00pm-4:00pm Timers, Check-in and Field Team
6:00pm-7:00pm Breakdown
Community Service Committee News
The Community Service Committee is meeting the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 11:00am at Valcour Brewing (next meeting is June 12th). Contact Ryan Lee if you have any questions.
The Camp Jericho clean up date has been rescheduled to the fall. There is a Community Clean Up at Jericho on June 1st if anyone is interested in helping out.
