Rotary Community Grant Awards
Kerry Haley reported that this year 18 organizations applied for Rotary Community Grants and 12 awards were given. Last week 2 organizations were highlighted:
Champlain Valley Voices received a Rotary Community Grant that will enable them to bring in guest musicians so they have a full orchestra for the Spring Mozart Concert.
JCEO received a Community Grant to support the Fostering Comfort Project. Children being placed in foster care will be given a bag of comfort supplies to help with the transition.
Rotary Ski Day
The weatherman has forecast there will be snow on the Face for Wednesday January 23, 2019 which will be GREAT for the annual Rotary Ski Day at Whiteface Mountain.
Here is the schedule for the day:
9:00am - Meet at the "10th Mt. Division Wall" in the Base Lodge (in the cafeteria to the right of the fireplace in the Main Lodge).
12:00pm - Lunch at Mid-Station - aaron Kellett, the GM of Whiteface, will attend lunch and update us on future expansion plans for the ski center.
On Wednesdays Whiteface offers 1/2 off the window price if you bring a Coke or Dasani product. See 'Why Not Wednesdays' on the Whiteface website for details. Ski rentals are also available. For more information, contact Steve Bailey at 5180728-1347. If you arrive late and want to find the crowd, give Steve a call.
New Member Orientation
The next orientation is Friday January 25th at 8:00am at 53 Court St.
Board of Director Meeting Date Changes
January 28th - noon at the Ground Round
February 25th - noon at the Ground Round
If you have a red badge and still need to attend a board meeting you will need to keep these dates in mind. Board Meetings also qualify as make-up meetings.
