Rotary Committee Meeting Schedule

Rotary Board Meeting - The next Rotary Board meeting will be Monday, April 18th at noon. This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 3rd Monday of every month at noon.
Program Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Monday of every month at noon. The next meeting is April 4th.
Service Committee - The next Service Committee meeting will be Wednesday, April 6th. This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Wednesday of every month at 11:00am.
Membership Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 11:00am. The next meeting is April 13th.
Safety Committee - Carol Arnold and Theresa Hayden will be giving weekly safety updates & reminders. Suggestions and new members are welcome, please contact Carol or Theresa.
Environmental Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Thursday of each month at noon. The next meeting is April 7th.
New Member Orientation - Next orientation date to come shortly. This is a requirement to move from Red to Blue Badge. Orientation will be held in person at Steve Kende’s office, 53 Court St. Please e-mail Steve Kende to let him know you are attending.

Hybrid Meetings to Return on Wednesday, April 6th
Beginning Wednesday, April 6, we will return to a hybrid format. Our meeting will continue to be held virtually on Zoom and in-person at the MHAB Life Skills Campus Dining Hall. Trevor and MHAB staff will serve a buffet lunch for the weekly Rotary meeting beginning Wednesday, April 6. The cost for the buffet (hot meal & soup / salad bar) is $17.00. Dessert and beverage is $6.00.
NOTE: Everyone attending in person must purchase either the buffet or dessert/beverage to help defer the facility cost. You can prepay online via credit card to speed up the check-in process and help with estimating food via the following link rotary.mhabfresh.com You can also pay by cash, check or card upon arrival.
Mark your calendars for the United Way Day of Caring taking place on Saturday, April 23rd. Our Service and Environmental committees are putting together a project for the day - details to come soon!
How Can you help Ukraine?
Rotary is accepting donations for the Disaster Response in Ukraine via the Disaster Response fund. Contributions to Disaster Response are temporarily being prioritized for districts impacted by the Ukraine crisis. Unspent funds will be available to any Rotary districts for Disaster Response grants.
All Donations made online at Disaster Response Fund – My Rotary, including the use of available district designated funds (DDF), need to be received by April 30, 2022. Grant applications to take advantage of the funds will be available now through June 30, 2022. This will be the primary avenue for Rotary Foundation Support.
Paul Harris Fellow Nominations
The Paul Harris Fellow honor was named for the founder of Rotary. It is the highest honor a Rotary club can bestow on a person, either inside or outside the club. The honor acknowledges "service above self," which that individual or organization has offered to their community, their nation or to the world.
The Paul Harris Fellow program was created to fund many Rotary Foundation programs, and Rotary clubs must collectively contribute $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation for the privilege of recognizing a person.Nominations are due by 1:30 p.m., Wednesday April 13, 2022. Sunrise Rotary Club raises funds for Polio Plus
Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh members are purchasing boxes of End Polio Now Tulips to raise funds for Polio Plus, a fund supporting the world-wide effort to eradicate Polio across the globe. The fundraising project is new to Rotary clubs in the Northern New York portion of Rotary District 7040. Canadian Rotary clubs in District 7040 have been taking part in the fundraising project for a few years but they import the tulip bulbs through a Canadian horticulturalist who is prohibited from shipping bulbs across the border.
Sunrise Rotary Club members as well as the public can order boxes of End Polio Now Tulips online until April 15 through THIS LINK. The tulips will be delivered to the Sunrise Rotary Club in mid- to late-September, in time for fall planting. For more info, click HERE
District Conference - NOW HYBRID
Let’s Meet Again - Rencontrons-nous à nouveau - Are you counting the days until you can meet again? You have friends in USA or Canada that you have not met in person for over a year and a half – they’re waiting for you too! The Ottawa Conference & Event Centre on Coventry Road in Ottawa is the location where we will be “Reaching Out” and meeting for the Rotary District Conference on May 4-7, 2022. You can also attend the events virtually if you prefer not to gather at this time.
