WEEK OF NOVEMBER 16th
MEETINGS TO BE ALL VIRTUAL THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON
Due to the uptick in cases and new guidelines, the Board of Directors has decided to make all meetings through the end of the year virtual. We will reevaluate at the beginning of the year. If you need any assistance joining the meeting via Zoom, please reach out to Ellen and we will arrange for a Rotarian to assist getting you set up.
HOLIDAY CARDS FOR SENIORS
For the coming holiday season, the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh is collecting and giving holiday cards to local seniors. We are partnering with the Senior Citizens Council of Clinton County, Joint Council for Economic Opportunity, Valehaven, Meadowbrook, CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility, Plattsburgh Rehab and Nursing, Clinton County Nursing Home, Pine Harbour Assisted Living, Vilas Home and the Champlain Valley Senior Community. Learn more about how you can help here https://portal.clubrunner.ca/1408/Stories/holiday-cards
ORNAMENT SALES COMMITTEE
Posters are ready! Please contact Jody or Corn to arrange for pickup.
The new ornaments are ready to sell! This year the ornament has the well known PAFB "Santa on the Plane". The picture and coloring are very well done. Anyone with connections to Plattsburgh will want one of these ornaments! Contact Corn Forrence or Jody Maloy to order. They also have past ornaments, for those trying to fill their sets. You can purchase them at both Dannemora Federal Credit Union locations, UFirst Credit Union, and the Senior Citizens Council.

CHANGES TO ROTARY DUES
The Rotary Dues Statements will be going out November 1st and will be due December 1st. This change will enable Carmen Carpentier and Anne Cutaiar to make the necessary changes, to our membership roster, before we receive the District Billing Statement. Please advise Carmen or Anne, if you will not be continuing your Rotary membership for any reason. Memberships will be removed from the roster on December 15th, if dues are not up to date.
ROTARY FOUNDATION
Every November, the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh encourages its members to donate to the Campaign for the Rotary Foundation. Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Rotary Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. How does it do that? The Rotary Foundation transforms your donations into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.
As previously mentioned, the Rotary club asks you to give generously to the Rotary Foundation through the club's annual November campaign. We don't place an emphasis on the dollar amount given by each member. Rather, it's the individual support of every club member to the Foundation’s local, national, and international projects we encourage.
This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has put a damper on our usual effort of seeking your contributions at each weekly meeting. Instead, we ask you to submit your donation via check or money order to Forrest Edwards, Treasurer, 47 Dock Street, Plattsburgh, NY, 12901 or by clicking on the following url http://bit.ly/PlattRotaryFoundationCampaign to make your donation via credit card.
If you have any questions, you can contact Tony Searing (518 572-2250, Tsearing@gmail.com) for more information. With your help, we can make lives better in our community and around the world.
FOOD SHELF DONATION REQUEST
During last week's Rotary meeting, President Ellen expressed her desire to see club members make an earnest effort to contribute to the Rotary club's Food Shelf, especially during the pandemic. You can send a check, give Forrest cash at a weekly meeting, or donate via credit card.
To send a check, please forward it to the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh (see mailing address below).
If you would like to donate via credit card, we have set up a portal for you to make your contribution. It is http://bit.ly/RotaryFoodShelfNovember20, which anyone who wants to donate more than once each month to the Food Shelf.
