Lunch price changes effective Wednesday, October 4th, 2017: Meal $15 and $6 fee for Dessert.
Rotary Food Shelf has donated almost $85,000 to the Food Shelf and the Salvation Army, since humble beginnings of change in a basket. The club has averaged about $5500 each year. Last year we collected $6130, as we had a generous match. This year, starting in July, we have only collected about $1,000. There are many people in our community who need this assistance, please be generous in your donations.
Plattsburgh Santa Repair - Amy Kretser is in need of some help fixing Santa. Bring some paint scrapers, paint brushes, drills, etc. to the city Public Works property on Idaho Ave on the new base. Take the roundabout towards the flightline, New York Road, then turn left on Idaho. Santa is on the right about a quarter-mile down Idaho.
Halloween Sock Hop - Bring Socks, hats, and Scarves to Donate on Saturday, October 28th from 2pm - 4pm Bring Your Family to Vesco Ridge Vineyards, 167 Stratton Hill Road, West Chazy, NY 12992 Tammy Guffey is looking for help with food and decorations. Can't make this event? Then bring your sock, hat, and scarf donations to the next meeting.
The Macdonough Monument Holiday Ornament is now available for $20. They will be on display at UFirst and Dannemora FCU or ask Peter Ensel. Past ornament collectables are still available.
Motor Cycle Raffle will be starting in November. Tickets will be $20 each and the committee is asking each Rotarian to purchase or sell 10 tickets. This event will replace the Radio Day fundraiser. Contact Vicki Marking or Ellen Bouchard to join this new and exciting fundraiser committee!
Small Gifts Call for Applications- The Plattsburgh Rotary Club is announcing a request for proposals from local organizations to benefit our community. The club is asking that all requests for Rotary year (July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018) be submitted for review by October 31, 2017. Please do not submit a request that exceeds $500. These grants are given to a group serving a larger population and a greater good, not to an individual. All grants are given toward special projects and not for the general operations of the organization or for funding. Specific events such as walks, golf tournaments, etc. will not be considered. Special funding is available for Youth-At-Risk programs that positively impact individuals under the age of 18. Please include the project title, organization name, contact information, funding amount requested, length of the program, the goal and summary of the project, any collaborative partners, the budget and any means of recognizing Rotary if funded. Requests should be submitted to PO Box 86, Plattsburgh, NY 12901
The Rotary Store has pens with the Rotary Four Way Test on them in anticipation that every member would purchase one for $2.
