Events & Committee News

Purple Pinkie Day

The Rotary Foundation Committee heard about the "Purple Pinkie Project." In countries where polio is still a threat, when a child is given the two drops of polio vaccine, one of the polio volunteer workers paints the nail on the child’s little finger with a purple dye so that other Polio Plus workers will know that this child has already been given the vaccine. Rotary and Interact Clubs around the world have turned this into a way to raise money and awareness regarding polio and Rotary’s campaign to erase it. 
 
On October 26th bring a few extra dollars and get join the purple pinkies! Looking for a couple of volunteers to help setup and operate the “Pinkie” line. Contact Past President Tony Searing if you are available to help out. 
 

Polio Awareness Day Save-the- Date

November 12th, 10A to 3P - Polio Awareness Station with Ironlung at the Champlain Center Mall. More information and sign-ups soon. Contact Past President Tony Searing for more information.

Vacation Raffle Success!

Thank you to the Vacation Raffle team and everyone who sold tickets this year. $9500 was raised to support local community programming. Good job!
 

Service Committee Collection

The Service Committee is collecting femine products to be distributed locally. Thank you for any support you can lend. 

Applications being Accepted

The Small Gifts Committee is accepting applications for grants of up to $500 for not-for-profit organizations.  Find details here.  The deadline to apply is October 28th.

Would you prefer to receive the Rotary magazine digitally?  You can change your preferences on the Rotary International website.

Volunteers for Painting

Work is being done to spruce up the fiberglass Santa Claus that sits on the airplanes near the Oval.  If you are available to help paint Santa, contact Bob Parks.

Ornaments are on Sale

This year's holiday ornament of the Kent Delord House is now on sale.  Ornaments are $20 each if picked up in person or $25 if ordered online and shipped.

Rotary Board Meeting - The next Rotary Board meeting will be Monday, November 21 at noon.  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 3rd Monday of every month at noon and will meet in-person.
 
Program Committee - This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Monday of every month at noon. The next meeting is November 7th.
 
Service Committee - The next Service Committee meeting will be Wednesday, November 9th.  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Wednesday of every month at 11:00am. 
 
Membership Committee -  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 11:00am. The next meeting is November 9th. 
 
Safety Committee - Carol Arnold and Theresa Hayden will be giving weekly safety updates & reminders.  Suggestions and new members are welcome, please contact Carol or Theresa.
 
Environmental Committee -  This meeting is regularly scheduled for the 1st Thursday of each month at noon. The next meeting is November 3rd.
 
King of Wings Committee - The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 9th at 11am.
