Radio Day
The club kickoff for Radio Day is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 25,, which is when the packets will be handed out. Radio Day will be held on April 8th at WIRY, so mark your calendars! Please sell some ads, sign up to read ads, and talk about Rotary on the radio! Contact Jack Helfgott at j_helfgott@yahoo.com or Anne Cutaiar at acutaiar@keybank.com with any questions. Anne and Jack are mentoring the 2016 Chairs Lisa Lafountain and Greg Brooker.
RYLA
At this time, the RYLA Committee is looking for Rotarians to assist in the selection of the candidates to go to the RYLA conference. Interested parties can contact John Prim.
The efforts of the committee are to prepare the information for the schools and for the interested students, to canvas the five schools in our area, review the applications and select those for interview, interview the candidates and select the final two along with an alternate. From there the effort will be to ensure the three chosen students get all of their paperwork in, the club pays the fees, get the parents are up to speed, and ensure that the attendees get to and from the Academy. Lastly, that all attendees come back for a meeting to tell the club about their experiences.
Our club is working with the Sunrise Club, with each club sponsoring two attendees.
One of the best things from the experience is that you have the opportunity to meet some “kids” that will help you believe that the youth of today have a lot of potential to make the world a better place in the years to come.
