Small gifts committee

The Plattsburgh Rotary Club is announcing a request for proposals from local organizations to benefit our community.

The Club is asking that all requests for this Rotary year be submitted for review by October 30, 2020.

The Club has a limited amount of money to be distributed to local organizations and therefore, the maximum grant that can be received is $500.  These grants are given to organizations serving a larger population and a greater good, not to an individual. All grants are given toward special projects and not for the general operations of the organization or for fundraising. Specific events such as walks, golf tournaments, etc. will not be considered. Special funding is available for Youth-At-Risk programs that positively impact individuals under the age of 18.

Please include the project title, organization name, contact information, funding amount requested, length of the program, the goal and summary of the project, any collaborative partners, the budget and any means of recognizing Rotary if funded. Requests should be submitted to P.O. Box 86, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

The Plattsburgh Rotary Club works diligently throughout the year to raise money to reinvest back into local organizations as well as support worldwide health efforts led by Rotary International.   For questions, please email khaley@cvph.org.

Basic Education and Literacy month in Rotary

From Club President Ellen - I thought for the month of September when you need a little "Retail Therapy" whether you are out shopping or surfing the internet; that it would be great if you could pickup a new children's book or two that we could donate to Literacy Volunteers.

You can bring your books to a Rotary meeting at MHAB or you can drop them by my office at 342 Tom Miller Rd. (the building behind the DFCU Branch).

Consider buying a young person a book. You never know, they may love it and become bookworms!!

Thanks for all you do for our Community!

Guidelines to attend the meetings at MHAB:

The Rotary club is following Food Establishment Guidelines to have the meeting.

  • You will need to register and choose your luncheon combo ($15.00) or Rotary dessert/beverage ($5.00) by Tuesday Noon (12 p.m.) prior to the Wednesday noon meeting via https://mhab-fresh.square.site/

This Wednesday's luncheon combo choices are:

  1. Sandwich:
  2. Soup:
  3. Salad: Tuna / Garden Salad.
  • Upon arriving Wednesday, you MUST enter wearing a mask, and your mask must remain on whenever you are walking around.

  • When you arrive, you will check in at the table with Forrest and put any donation you want into the Food Shelf bowl on the table.
  • You can then go get your lunch and refreshments and take a seat at a table. We will not have anyone walking around the group with the microphone and to collect things.
