Rotary Club of Plattsburgh

Club Reminders & Updates

  • The Plattsburgh Rotary meetings are now being held at The Valcour Brewing Company at the Old Stone Barracks, 49 Ohio Avenue, Plattsburgh (across from the Rotary Centennial Park). Pricing for meals remains the same.
  • President Jack's theme for the year is "Be the Inspiration".
  • Rotary Golf Outing August 29th @ Noon at the Barracks - Old Fashion Scramble. Registration is now live! If you have any questions, contact Ryan Lee or Jared Burns.  Barracks members $35 - Non Members $50 Pulled Pork Dinner.
  • Host Families Needed - The Youth Exchange Committee is looking for host families in Beekmantown and Peru School Districts for the two youth exchange students who will be with us from Sept. 2018 to June 2019.  Each family will keep students for a 3-4 month period and will be interviewed in their home and must have background checks completed.  Students are Letitia from Brazil going to Peru and Mire from Japan going to Beekmantown. Contact Shelley Fracalossi 518-645-3475 or John Prim for more information.
  • Hospitality - If your duty for the week is hospitality you are going to be in charge of making sure the handicap entrance is open and to help those who need assistance.
  • Bed Race - Brochures for the Bed Race are now ready to go! Please see Vicki to pick some up to distribute among the community. The goal is to have more teams from the community participate.
  • 50/50 Raffle - As a reminder if you pick the Queen of Hearts when drawing the card for the 50/50 raffle you win the pot. However, you still get paid for every card that you draw. For example, if you draw a 2, you win $2. Face cards win $10 and the joker wins $50. Make sure you pick up your winnings from Katie on the way out. If you do not pick up the winnings it will then be considered a donation to the club.
  • Committee Listings - If you did not pick up your paper to review and update your committees please be sure to pick it up from Courtney DeLaura. Review the committee to make sure that they are correct. If there are any changes please make a note. Please initial and return the listing to Courtney ASAP.
  • Membership - Dues are due!  Anyone considering resigning from the club, in the near future, should notify Carmen Carpentier or Marsha Cook at Plattsburgh.rotary@gmail.com.  The district office sends our club a billing statement for dues using the club roster as of May 31st and November 30th.  The club is required to pay these dues, even if someone is no longer with the club.  Rotarians who may have a medical/family reason why they cannot attend meetings, please contact Carmen or a member of the Membership Committee, as you may be able to obtain a medical leave of absence.
