Rotary Ski Day

Custom Rotary License Plates
District 7120 Governor Janet Tenreiro, along with District 7040 North Central New York Area Governor Michael Griffin, are leading the project, which has the support of all nine district governors in New York State. The new plate will take the place of Rotary's current custom plate in New York, which uses the old logo and has no motto.
In order for New York State to move ahead on printing the new plates, we need to get at least 200 New York State Rotarians to express interest in ordering the new custom license plate.
(UPDATE: As of Jan. 2, we have 132 (66%) out of the 200 interest sign-ups needed.)
If you are interested in ordering a plate, please fill out the short form online at https://forms.gle/sQAhXsejZBanX25K8 or print out and mail in the attached form.
The initial DMV fee for the Rotary plate is $60. Then, an additional annual renewal fee ($31.25), in addition to your regular vehicle registration renewal fee, will be billed for the plates every two years, when you renew your registration. Personalized custom plates at an extra fee (you pick the characters, i.e., "RTRY"), and custom plates that include the Universal Symbol of Access (formerly "handicapped" plates), for individuals who qualify, will also be available. Rotarians who currently have Rotary plates and want to switch to the new one will be able to do so.
We hope that you consider supporting this exciting project, which will spread our Rotary message around the state and country!
After we get our 200 Rotarians signed up, we'll let those interested know, share the list with New York State and the project will move ahead!
Service Committee
The Service Committee is launching two initiatives for low/no contact, service opportunities.
The first is encouraging as many Rotarians as possible who are eligible/willing/able to give blood in the months of January and February to do so! Once you have done this, please email Nicole so that we can track a total number. If you have done so this month already, please send that info as well. The second suggestion is for Rotarians to send thank you cards to various individuals and organizations who have been vital and working extra hard etc. during the pandemic (i.e. frontline workers, those administering and advocating for vaccines and testing etc.). There are some suggested recipients listed below-this list is by no means all-inclusive, so please feel free to send to others and please do not take offense if something obvious is missing-we're all tired and our brains are mush this late in the week :). Please complete thank you cards and send/deliver on your own and report to Nicole how many you did for tracking purposes.
Health Depts., hospitals, doctors offices, testing sites, fire depts, police depts, EMTs, Chamber, local schools and colleges, politicians and local reps, urgent care centers, emergency room, pharmacies, delivery workers, to go and pickup order staff at grocery stores and retailers etc.

District Conference
Let’s Meet Again - Rencontrons-nous à nouveau - Are you counting the days until you can meet again? You have friends in USA or Canada that you have not met in person for over a year and a half – they’re waiting for you too! The Ottawa Conference & Event Centre on Coventry Road in Ottawa is the location where we will be “Reaching Out” and meeting for the Rotary District Conference on May 6 & 7, 2022.
Registration cost start at $150 for new Rotarians, $200 for Rotarians, and Rotaractors $75. Book now to avoid the price increase on January 1.

Due to an increase in confirmed cases of the Delta-variant of COVID-19, the weekly meetings of the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh will be held virtually on ZOOM for the next couple of weeks. Zoom meetings will begin at noon. The Board of Directors will review its decision on a weekly basis whether to continue broadcasting based on the COVID-19 situation locally and statewide.
